The BCU-01 Universal Blend is an active blend control that mixes anything. Two active pickups or two passive pickups? No problem. Getting funky and want to mix and active pickup with a passive pickup? Yep, it does that too!

No insertion loss, no pickup interaction, no volume dip at the center. Just a smooth gradual transition across the entire blend range. This is why we call it a Universal Blend!

Unlike passive blend controls where the blend pot value must be carefully matched to the pickups, the Universal Blend Control uses independent high impedance (1 megaohm) buffered inputs. This allows the BCU-01 to be used for the following scenarios:
- Blending two Active pickups,
- Blending two Passive pickups,
- Blending one Active with one Passive pickup.
FEATURE COMPARISON
Each LHZ blend control has a different use case. This table illustrates which blend control is recommended for each scenario.

| Two Passive Pickups (Traditional 250k tone) |
LBCA-02 (100K) | 100k input impedance is same as total impedance seen by traditional 250k blend + 250k volume system. This will provide the same top-end rolloff as the passive system. |
| Two Passive Pickups (Ultra-bright tone) |
BCU-01 | The ultra-high input impedance (1 megaohm) maximizes the treble response of passive pickups. Passive pickups will have same brightness as if plugged directly to the amp with no blend or volume in the path. |
| One Active + One Passive | BCU-01 | Each pickup is buffered independently before blending. This allows both to be mixed evenly without interaction between pickups. |
CENTER DETENT: The BCU-01 has a center detent so you always know where the 50/50 blend point between neck and bridge is.
RIGHT OR LEFTHAND: The BCU-01 can be connected to work as a right-hand or left-hand control. Want to switch? Just swap the Neck and Bridge pickup connections. It's that easy!
